
A Rationale for Mindbody Connection
An overall theme for Mindful Yoga Classes
is strengthening and deepening an essential
connection to our body, our breath, our
mind and our emotions. By connection I
mean a quality of relationship affected
by depth of awareness and sense of meaning.
Primary to our promoting our health,
healing and wellness is the nature of
the connectedness across our mindbody
system.
The experience of disconnection may be
described as fragmentation, imbalance,
lack of control, and absence of ease.
To establish and deepen healthy connectedness
within ourselves we purposely slow down,
become quiet, pay attention, and listen
to the wisdom of our bodymind through
all of our senses within the present moment.
We can learn to recognize signs of imbalance
(on increasingly subtle levels) and hone
our skills to influence ourselves toward
balance and mindbody health.
As we strengthen our connectedness we
experience increased awareness, respect,
self-care, stability and harmony affecting
not only ourselves, but also our relationships,
and our quality of life.
